How many times have you gotten ready to move forward in your life and been sidelined by other people's expectations, old feelings of inadequacy, and hurtful things from your past? It can turn into quite a nasty cycle that is seemingly impossible to get out of. But I believe today is the beginning of change in your mindset. This morning, God woke me up with Hebrews 12:1-3 and encouraged me to share it with you. He didn't give me a lot of filler but told me that today, the Word is enough. Of course, the Word is always enough but sometimes you can get caught up in what other people's interpretation is. It's easier when someone tells you what a scripture should mean for your life and how you should apply it, right? But today, He wants you to get this Word in your heart and let Him minister the instruction to you directly. The Message translation made me feel it today and so that's what I will share with you. A different version may speak to you and that's fine…as long as you let it speak to you. Read it, hear it, receive it, and act on it. God is ready to shift you and it starts with a change of mindset.
“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how He did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—He could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now He’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility He plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!”(Heb. 12:1-3 MSG)
Ready, set, GO!
Amen
